I've always loved to write, and the day I realized I could also make it into a career was one of the best I can remember.
I got my feet wet in professional journalism with a couple of bi-weekly newspapers in Georgia, including the Coastal Courier in Hinesville, and the Bryan County News in Richmond Hill. Later, I worked as a staff writer at The Bayonet, the weekly paper of Fort Benning, Ga., and got to tag along on all sorts of military training (ask me how comfortable Humvees really are.)
I earned my Bachelor's degree in French education from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After graduation, I decided I hadn't had enough of all things French yet, so I moved to Paris, France for two years. I studied translation at the Sorbonne and at ESIT, a specialized graduate school for interpretation and translation studies. I also earned professional certification from the Greater Paris Chamber of Commerce.
I'm a native of St. Louis, Mo. (go Cards!) and currently reside in California's High Desert with my husband and our two cats. When I'm not writing, or thinking about writing, you can find me jogging outside, drinking coffee, reading a book, or shooing the cats off the keyboard.
